Training

We are excited to offer some fantastic training opportunities for you in 2013. As an approved provider it is your responsibility to ensure that you have staff appropriately trained to meet your data requirements.

We encourage all members of data collections teams to attend our training sessions each year as the most current information about new functionality and reporting requirements is provided.

During 2013 we will be providing new ways to deliver training. In addition to training venues in most capital cities (in the table below), we will be launching our Webinars!

Face to Face training sessions

First up, in February and March we will be offering face-to-face training sessions: an introductory and a more advanced level. See Table 1

1. Steps to Successful Reporting

This is a two and a half hour session that provides new data collections officers, or those people who would like a refresher, with the essential information for successful data reporting. Topics include:

  • Reporting requirements
  • HEPCAT Basics
  • Introduction to HEIMS Online
  • HEIMS workflow
  • Tips to fixing validation errors

2. Data, Deadlines and Dollars

This is a two and half hour session providing experienced data collections officers with information about how and when your data is used for program management purposes, reconciliation, student entitlement calculations and reporting to the ATO.

It also provides:

  • In depth training about how to use HEIMS Online Data View reports to ensure the quality of your data to reduce workload later.
  • new enhancements including latest revision techniques, and other useful tips and tricks.

Both these sessions will be provided in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth and Brisbane.

Webinars

A webinar is an interactive web based seminar. It involves a live presentation, lecture or workshop that happens in real time. It’s a live, online educational presentation where viewers can submit questions and comments. It sounds awesome doesn’t it? So if you can’t get away from your desk this could be your solution. Real training in real time! Webinars will be offered in one hour modules for your convenience. Table 2 shows the topics included in each part.
