Indicative tuition fee
The indicative tuition fee reported for the Indicative Tuition Fee for a Domestic Fee-paying Place (E496) is the approximate average cost of a course for a first year student studying full time for one year.
The approximate average cost is derived based on the tuition fee for a full time student load (1 EFTSL) for a first year student.
When reporting the indicative tuition fee for the course that is:
- 1 EFTSL or more - report the average annual fee; or
- less than 1 EFTSL - report the actual fee calculated as a percentage of 1 EFTSL
For example:
- Master of Business
- Total course cost = $40,000
- Standard course duration = 2 years of equivalent full time study (i.e. 2 EFTSL)
- Indicative tuition fee is $20,000
- Graduate Diploma of Business
- Total course cost = $20,000
- Standard course duration = 1 year of equivalent full time study (i.e. 1 EFTSL)
- Indicative tuition fee is $20,000
- Graduate Certificate of Business
- Total course cost = $5,000
- Standard course duration = 0.5 years of equivalent full time study (i.e. 0.5 EFTSL)
- Indicative tuition fee is $10,000
