Classification
Description (detailed)
A code which identifies whether a student had commenced and/or completed a Diploma or Associate Diploma course done at a CAE, university, teachers' college, institute of technology, institute of advanced education, institute of tertiary education or some other institution; and the last year in which the student was enrolled in such a course.

A commencing non‑overseas student who for a Diploma or Associate Diploma course done at a CAE, university, teachers' college, institute of technology, institute of advanced education, institute of tertiary education or some other institution:

Coding notes
YY is replaced by two digits indicating the last year in which the student was enrolled in a prior sub-degree course (e.g. "81" would indicate 1981). If no information is available for year, code as "2AA" or "3AA".
If data are reported for students other than non‑overseas students, DETYAPAC will identify such students using Element 358 (Citizen/resident indicator) and will ignore the data during edit validations and the data for them will be re-coded as "000" when data are loaded to DETYA's database.
