A code which identifies whether a student had commenced and/or completed a Higher Doctorate, Doctorate, Master's Degree or other postgraduate course; and the last year in which the student was enrolled in such a course.

A commencing non‑overseas student for whom a Higher Doctorate, Doctorate, Master's Degree or other postgraduate course:

| 3YY | Completed all the requirements and the last year of enrolment in such a course was YY |
| 999 | No information on such a course |
Coding notes
YY is replaced by two digits indicating the last year in which the student was enrolled in a prior postgraduate course (e.g. "81" would indicate 1981). If no information is available for year, code as "2AA" or "3AA".
If data are reported for students other than non-overseas students, DETYAPAC will identify such students using Element 358 (Citizen/resident indicator) and will ignore the data during edit validations and the data for them will be re-coded as "000" when data are loaded to DETYA's database.
