A code indicating use of a language other than English at the student's/applicant’s permanent home residence.

To record that a student/applicant speaks only English at a permanent home residence use 0001 rather than the ABS code of 1201.
Code 8000 may be utilised to report an Indigenous Australian language where the individual language is not known or identified.
